10.30am: Refreshments on arrival
11.00 - The Life and Times of a Silver Tea Kettle of 1739.
12.15 Ralph will talk about a tea kettle he is bringing for the audience to handle and examine, explaining its importance in 18th Century tea culture, its Huguenot influenced design, and the misfortunes that overtook its original owner and its maker. There are various diversions along the way as unexpected connections come to light.
12.30pm Lunch
1.45pm Leake Okeover : Local Patron of the Arts & Sir William Heathcote's candlesticks.
After a thorough examination of the candlesticks, Ralph will recount the misfortunes that befell this fabulously wealthy aristocrat, whose relations got locked up in the Tower of London and whose son's behaviour resulted in him being disinherited.

Ralph Hoyle is a long-standing member of the Silver Society and has given talks to the Art Fund, Sheffield Assay Office and Historic Houses. He brings pieces from his own collection for the audience to handle and examine while he is discussing design and social context.
