Heritage Volunteers
see slideshow below
The Heritage Volunteers have completed work at Pickford House in Friargate, Derby sorting through boxes of items to check that each has a catalogue number and label, compatible with computer records. This has been a very enjoyable task as we never knew from week to week what we might find in the cabinets and boxes. It ranged from eighteenth century silk and lace to a Chinese fan or gentleman’s spats – a fascinating task and we learnt many interesting things about materials and craftmanship.
We are now investigating new possibilities for Heritage Volunteering and we hope to begin another project next year.
