church recording
On August 20th the Church Recording Group presented their record to St Peter’s Church, Snelston. The service included short talks on the history of the church and village along with input from members of the Group. This happy event concluded with drinks and canapes.
The recording of Cubley is reaching the stage of compilation and the group is looking forward to selecting their next church. If you think that church recording may be of interest to you, please contact Liz Bownes or Sue James for further informationl via the Contact page. We can assure you that it can be quite addictive!
The presentation of the Wirksworth record was made at Evensong on Sunday May 1st, 2022. It was lovely to return to this remarkable church to hand over the record, of which the team are justifiably proud.

Nationally, the contents of over 2,000 churches have been recorded, with churches receiving a bound copy of their finished record and further hard and/or electronic copies being given to the local Record Office, the Victoria and Albert Library and the Church Care Council.
The Arts Society Dove Valley Committee have agreed to continue to support our group of volunteers, in recognition of the importance of this nationwide project.
