Two visits are planned. Firstly in March to St Mary's Church, Marston-on-Dove. This fine old church, with a 13th century chancel and the oldest bell in Derbyshire, cast in 1366, has recently undergone a major conservation programme, supported by English Heritage. This is an opportunity to enjoy the church and learn about what has been involved in the conservation.
The second visit in June is to Staunton Harold, where we will visit the Georgian house, once home to the Shirley family, who became Earls Ferrers. We will also visit the fine 17th century estate church.
Details to follow in due course.
